ROTTEN CORPSE
What's this? Pure grinding brutality from Ireland, that's what it is! Abaddon
Incarnate packs 24 slabs of crushing madness into 43 minutes on "Nadir",
their latest release and their first with Irish label Sentinel Records. The
production on "Nadir" is very well mixed. Abaddon's vocalist Steve
Maher(also on of Abaddon's lead guitarist) uses a midrange growl which is
backed by bassist Cory Sloan's blackened screetches from Hell. Maher and Abaddon's
other lead guitarist Bill Whealan's guitar sound is similar to the old days
of Entombed and Dismember in that deep, raw sound. Especially when they slow
it down a bit to the sickening, groove tempo that sends the blood flowing
fast! As evident in track 4 "Unclean" and track 5 "Aeons of
Our Dying". Abaddon Incarnate is mainly a grind band though and drummer
Olan Parkinson sets the pace with some brutal blasts. "Nadir" was
engineered and produced at Soundlab Studios in Sweden by Mieszko from Nasum
in July 2001. This is one meaty offering by Abaddon Incarnate that deserves
your attention. So for those that like their death/grind fast and furious,
this is a must add to your cd collection soon! Get in touch with these Irish
sicko's to see how you can get your hands on "Nadir" and go to the
Sentinel Records site as well.
